Gordon Haff - Issue #4. Cloud security and more

May 25 - Issue #4

Gordon Haff

I'm a technology evangelist at Red Hat where I deal with topics such as containers, DevOps, cloud strategy, and IoT. Those will be the primary focus of this newsletter but I'll also use it to highlight generally interesting links and to provide updates on my comings and goings. Blog: http://bitmason.blogspot.com

This coming weekend I’ll be off to my usual Memorial Day boating trip to Beal Island near Bath, Maine.
Then I’ll be around until the following week when I go down to New York City for CloudExpo. My presentation is The New Platform: You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet on June 8. I’ve given other variations of this presentation previously but there’s so much activity in the container ecosystem (broadly defined) that I keep rethinking the best way to talk about it. If you’re in the NYC area that week, come on down!
And, after CloudExpo, I’ll be heading off to Ithaca, NY for my Johnson Graduate School of Management reunion, which is always a fun time.
In the Press
I’ve been writing an increasing amount about cloud security of late. This is a piece that I wrote recently about some of the mistakes I see organizations making. I’ll have some more in this vein based on some recent analyst research that Red Hat commissioned in an upcoming issue of this newsletter. See also the recent paper I wrote on public cloud adoption that I’ve linked to below.
