Hello everyone,
In this issue:
  • Our new Kickstarter reward: Alternative tyre sizes!
  • The campaign and the Media comment
  • Gecko Rubber Roadshows

New Reward for Alternative Tyre Sizes.
You can now pledge on our Kickstarter campaign page for alternative tyre sizes other than the 700x43, 700x28 and 26x1.5" . If the campaign and follow up goes well we are likely to also have 16", 20", 24" and other 700 tyre sizes by this time next year. So you can pledge now and we will get back to you on your specific requirements. If we don’t have a suitable tyre that meets your needs ready to send by July 2023 we will compensate you directly.
The Campaign and Media comment
We are 35% towards our target with just 1 week to go, so now quite an ask to hit our £10,000 target, but it’s still possible with a late surge in these final 7 days.
The campaign has brought in a lot of interest including from dealers, to distributors, to bicycle manufacturers, to companies wishing to support Gecko in other ways. However, it would be great to see more of the interested end users pledging now to get their hands on the first production tyres, and at a 30% discount, or go for one of our unique T shirts (to be designed next month) or even just pledge to support the project. It all would be much appreciated.
We also wanted to highlight other new significant information now on our Kickstarter campaign page:
  • We now include answers to FAQ’s on tyre weight, tyre rolling resistance/comfort comparisons and also a quite detailed response on the Gecko airless tyre technology. There are also more in the comments section.
  • Also included down the campaign page are two past articles by the Electric Bike Report (EBR) and Bike Biz (also referred to in one FAQ).
  • Also now included are recent articles from the EBR, Flat Bike and ebiketips introducing our Kickstarter campaign and their initial thoughts on our new ultra lightweight airless tyre technology.
Please again see link below to the campaign page:
Gecko Rubber Roadshows
We also wanted to highlight the two excellent roadshow events in the past two weeks at Warmley, Bristol (on the Bristol to Bath Cycle Path) which I know have directly resulted in more pledges. We will be at Warmley again this Saturday (10am till 2pm) so if you are around please call in for a chat and to test ride the Trek bicycle with the new 700x43 prototype tyres fitted.
