I’m back to making my body savage by riding my bike again. Not savage like a panther but more savage like an orangutan or an aging wildebeest. Maybe not a lot of bike time this weekend due to Hurricane Matthew. If you are in its path, please stay safe and help those you can. I was in Washington DC on Monday and Tuesday this week so my schedule has been a bit compressed. But I’m reminded of the motto of the US Postal Service, “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds”.
This week is a mix of fitness and general interest stuff. I had to include the Allegory of the Cave video because I wanted to mention there’s so much cool educational stuff online these days. (I should mention I think it’s absurd to ask 6th graders to read Allegory of the Cave but that’s a rant for another time.) Whether it’s Plato or some very cool short videos on geology, which really came in handy this week to help get ready for a 6th grade science test, if you are stumped, go to YouTube and search. You’ll be amazed. You can teach yourself almost anything.
It’s hard to believe it’s October. The Gators already have blown their shot at the SEC Championship, I think, but Saturday football is still a treat. There are precious few shopping days left until my birthday (10/15) so don’t let the howling winds and the downpour keep you from shopping this weekend, if you are so inclined. Email me for my wishlist.
