This week on Fresh Fonts, I bring you a selection of (mostly serif) typefaces released over the past couple of weeks. Also, I’m very excited for TypeWknd, a new online conference which is kicking off next week. It will be my first conference talk of 2020, and probably the most diverse line-up I have ever been on! It’s totally free so come along and see me chat about how to grow your newsletter, and hope to see you at the live Q&A! ✌🏼 – Noemi

Fontwerk 🇩🇪
Fontwerk launched, bringing together a pretty diverse team, most of them based in Germany. There is good stuff and they are all available as trial fonts. Fun to note, for his typeface Pangea, designer Christoph Koeberlin created an axis of variation for each stylistic set. This lets you switch on the alternate characters, allowing you to create font styles that don’t even exist as static fonts, like Pangea Simple ( see this in action).

Grosa and Rotep by Feliciano Type
Mário Feliciano just dropped several new additions to his retail catalogue. First, Grosa is a simple and carefully crafted workhorse sans serif. It is already in use on the new website of the foundry, so just head there to see how it performs on the web. Next, Rotep is an call-caps typeface in two versions (with or without cross bars). Not pictured above, Korrodi is a surprising, mono-linear Art Nouveau display face.

Syncro by Out of the Dark
Swiss foundry Out of the Dark released Syncro, a family of distinct styles, making it possible to mix and match its different styles together. The initial release consists of a Book style, a Mono style, and their corresponding italics. I’m really looking forward to the addition of the Bold Extended and Script styles – of which you can already have a preview on the foundry’s website.

Stellage by Soft Machine
Soft Machine is a relatively new Dutch foundry that is part of Open Studio. Its latest release, Stellage, is the work of Mark Niemeijer. It comes in five styles: Regular, Italic, Constructed, Constructed Italic, and Display. The Regular cut looks great when used for text of all sizes, and pairs remarkably well with the Display and Constructed styles.
🎁 Premium subscribers get 25% off individual Stellage styles and 50% off the complete family pack until October 15th. If you’re a Premium subscriber, simply reply to this email to get the discount code.

Dilemma by Sudtipos
Dilemma is an extensive typeface in 3 widths and 7 weights, in both a sans and a serif version. “We created a workhorse system where each style functioned well alone but would be more powerful when working as a team, pairing the sans styles with the serifs” explains designer Alejandro Paul. The outcome pretty much speaks for itself!
🎁 Premium subscribers get 30% off all Dilemma styles and family packs until October 15th. If you’re a Premium subscriber, simply reply to this email to get the discount code.

Neue World by Pangram Pangram
Neue World is a beautiful modern serif designed by foundry founder Mat Desjardins. Inspired by vintage display faces, often manually squeezed to fit the print size, this typeface comes in six widths (from Super Condensed to Extended) to accommodate any format. You can also get its variable font version when licensing the full family.
🎁 Premium subscribers get 30% off all Neue World styles and family packs until October 15th. If you’re a Premium subscriber, simply reply to this email to get the discount code.
