Hello everyone and welcome to the updated First Gen newsletter!
Starting this week, First Gen
is becoming part of the family of Open Campus newsletters. And after this Friday’s newsletter, I’ll be publishing every other Friday
instead of every week.
Open Campus is a nonprofit news organization that’s dedicated to improving the coverage Americans get about their colleges. It’s built around the premise that more thoughtful, aggressive coverage of all parts of the American higher education system is needed to hold colleges up to high standards and to help decrease public cynicism.
Drawing on philanthropic resources, Open Campus is working to put more reporters on the higher-ed beat in cities across the country and to bring more voices into the national conversation about colleges’ role in society.
This is a great step for the newsletter and I’m excited for what’s to come.
If you’re reading this and you’re already subscribed, you’ll still get First Gen in your inbox but it make sure to mark it as “important” so it won’t be filtered out.
If you’re new to the newsletter and haven’t signed up yet, here’s where
you can do that and read previous issues.
Thanks for reading,
