Alt18 for 8/21/21: Bastille at No. 1; Manchester Orchestra joins

Bastille is back at No. 1 this week with the trippy dreamscape banger “Distorted Light Beam,” while Italian rockers Maneskin continue to storm up the Alt18 with “I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE.” If you haven’t heard it, it’s better than the title and the EuroVision-winning band is one to, literally, watch.
There’s turnover on the countdown this week, but mostly returning songs. The one new track is “Telepath” by Manchester Orchestra. I’d bet on it reaching No. 1.
