What is Axie Infinity (AXS and SLP)? 👾
Axie Infinity is the most popular NFT game, and it is growing like an STD in an orgy since it moved to the Ronin Ethereum sidechain in late April.
It has now reached 252k Daily Active Users (DAUs), up from 38k two months ago. That is ~30% growth week-on-week 💥
Users collect, breed, trade, and battle creatures called Axies. The game has everything. Imagine CryptoKitties battling like Pokemons in Decentraland, and you start to get the picture.
The tokenomics are as interesting as the gameplay, with many tokens at play.
Game assets are NFTs, and there’s an active marketplace. 30 days volume: $144 mn!
Small Love Potion (SLP) is the in-game currency used to buy game assets and breed. It can be earned or purchased.
Many people in poor countries are making a living out of playing and selling assets.
Finally, the governance token: Axie Infinity Shard (AXS).
There was an ICO in 2020, but most of the coins will come into circulation via inflation (from 20% of the supply now to 100% in 2026).
Staking and voting are about to launch this year.
The treasury gets the 4.25% fee from marketplace sales, part of the breeding fees, and part of the inflation.
AXS stakers will decide what to do with the treasury via governance voting. In the meantime, it is growing at the same insane rates as the game and the marketplace.

Of course, this is not financial advice yada yada yada.
Investing is not a casual game. Play if you wish, but prepare. Or don’t, but then be prepared for game over.
