Welcome to #252 of Original Comic Art Tips! Original Comic Art Auction Results: The rise of production prints… a proof and print acetates for a Hulk cover went for $1,2k. Imagine the nice original pieces you could buy with the money (even within the same weekly auction…). At least these are real, not the home made prints you see on ebay.
Hakes Auction: record prices for Al Williamson Star Wars strips, $46k was the highest price, with $174k paid for all strips. Do you think that the bidder that paid $15k for the REPRINT color guides for Amazing Fantasy #15, realized that he was buying guides for REPRINTS? At least the color guides for X-Men #108, sold for $3,7k, were all from the original printing BUT the cover…. The Neal Adams Batman issue color guides were all original and went for $5,7k.
