eBay: the Batman cover by Bo Hampton went for $3,5k, an X-Men page by Frank Quitely for $3k, the X-Men page by JRJR was not a bad deal at $1,7k, a war page by Russ Heath went for $3k, a Hawkman DPS by Al Milgrom for a $1,8k Best Offer.
The Bruce Timm pinup went for a good $1,2k, the Captain America page by Sal Buscema for $1,3k, the Art Adams page for $1k, a Harley Vs. Ivy commission by Mike Deodato for $900.
Heritage Weekly Auction: $6,6k for the Defenders page by Jim Starlin, $5,7 for the Rocket Raccoon page by Mignola, Vampirella art by Jose Gonzalez is always on demand, with this pinup sold for more than $5k.
Havok by Joe Mad for $4,3k, the Dilbert strip for $3,6k, the X-Men page by Whilce Portacio for $3,3k, the Nightcrawler commission by Cockrum and the Spidey by Romita both went for $2k, the TWD page by Adlard for $1k.
The rise of production prints… a proof and print acetates for a Hulk cover went for $1,2k. Imagine the nice original pieces you could buy with the money (even within the same weekly auction…). At least these are real, not the home made prints you see on ebay.
Catawiki: a Corto Maltese strip by Hugo Pratt was sold for €2,5k, a big commission by Kevin Eastman for €250.
Hakes Auction: record prices for Al Williamson Star Wars strips, $46k was the highest price, with $174k paid for all strips.
The Star Wars page by Howard Chaykin went for $23k, $20k for the Iron Fist origin page by Gil Kane, $15k for the Superman splash by Al Plastino, $14k for Mike Sekowsky JLA art.
Do you think that the bidder that paid $15k for the REPRINT color guides for Amazing Fantasy #15, realized that he was buying guides for REPRINTS?
At least the color guides for X-Men #108, sold for $3,7k, were all from the original printing BUT the cover…. The Neal Adams Batman issue color guides were all original and went for $5,7k.
Some affordable pieces too, $5k for She-Hulk by Byrne, $2,1k for the Infinity Inc. with JSA page by McFarlane, $800 for a New Year’s day Garfield Sunday, $800 for a Conan Vs. Red Sonja daily by Ernie Chan.
Nate Sanders: A Peanuts AD illustration went for $12,5k.
