A lot of things to shout about in my Shout Outs section below. Great to see the continued progress for these organizations and the ecosystem.
Last issue I mentioned how funds are already depleted for this year’s
ND Operation Intern. Now a similar message is out regarding
Innovate ND, in that “
Due to strong demand for its program offerings, Innovate ND is at budget capacity and will not be accepting new applications until further notice”. I look forward to when this can open back up as it’s been a very instrumental program for years in helping entrepreneurs work through ideas and pivots through both the mentor guidance & funding.
Similar to the above, the
Launch Minnesota Innovation Grants have also announced they have expended all funds. The next fiscal year begins this July and is funded with $1.5M. Application materials will be published beginning June 1, 2022.
The cup’s half empty with all of this is that it’s a bummer that funding is currently dry; but the half full is that this is a sign that entrepreneurial activity remains strong, feeding the demand for these programs. Hopefully legislators and commerce departments of both states see this as a positive trend and adequately fund programming going forward.
