Startup Digest Fargo - Issue #20: Tons of events; Intern Grant; Shout Outs

Issue #20 — View online — Suggest a link

The personalized local newsletter for the Fargo Moorhead startup scene.

North Dakota Dept. of Commerce Operation Intern applications are now open through 3/1. Employers can access up to $4,000 of matching funds for each student, with a maximum of 5 interns per year. The program focuses on creating new internships and apprenticeships within the state’s targeted industries: Energy, Advanced Manufacturing, Value-Added Agriculture, Tourism and Technology-Based Businesses, to include Cybersecurity. Priority will be given to new startups, companies that have not participated in the program previously and new internship or apprenticeship positions.
“Matchmaking” & regular registration is open for the virtual summit. This event focuses on one-on-one meetings for Midwest-based or Midwest-linked startup founders, VCs, angel investors, incubators, and accelerators - focused on Pre-Seed, Seed, and Series A stages. Startup matchmaking starts next week, so if this is of interest, you should register sooner than later.
Two local business leadership programs are currently accepting applications:
  • The SBA Emerging Leaders - To be eligible to participate, a small business must have been in business for at least 3 years; generate revenues of at least $250,000; have at least one employee besides the owner; be committed to attend 13 bi-weekly workshops and complete required course-work from May-November, 2021. Apply.
  • The North Dakota Women’s Business Center Women’s Leadership Program challenges and inspires women from every level with their six-month program. Fargo class: apply by 4/30.
