If you have managed a team, you can probably testify that is not an easy task. Imagine if that team is scattered around the world, where everyone may be working in different time zones and you need to synchronize everyone.
I find this concept fascinating, and when you look at companies that you know, you may find some of them are actually working completely remotely and completely globally distributed (one of the most famous ones is Automattic, the company behind Wordpress).
You may ask yourself how they can work in this environment. It’s not an easy answer, and there are multiple possible answers (the same applies to companies that are not distributed and remote, if you ask 10 companies how they manage their teams and be productive, you probably get 10 different answers).
Zapier is one example of a 100+ employees company that is 100% remote and distributed around the world. This is an interesting interview to the CTO about this topic, and how he can manage the work and how they are working together efficiently.
