There has been an article that came out not long ago about a company that moved their PHP software to Go and later decided to move back to PHP. This article is a “reply” to that article, pointing out the pros and cons of both PHP and Go programming language, why they are designed for different purposes, and why you should use one or the other according to what is the task that you want to accomplish.
I like this article because it’s much more neutral towards both programming languages, and I strongly believe that there is no single programming language that is the best overall, and each one should be used for their own use cases. A programmer should have an open mind and test multiple programming languages for the task that needs to be accomplished and decide accordingly on which one is best for the job. Sometimes it can be Go and sometimes PHP, or maybe even another one.
