FASTer - Issue #65

Time is in short supply. The Economy is not doing great across the globe, the last thing people want at this time is more work to do. But “with chaos comes opportunity”. There is a way to be a winner vs a looser in this scenario.
To get what you want, especially in business and as a startup,
JUST ASK FOR IT!
Instead of saying “let’s connect” or “can I pick your brain?” do this:
1. Email the exact questions you have(Make a list, spend the bloody time, be respectful of others who may want to help, but wont because you are inconsiderate or do not plan ahead)
2. Put your ask at the end so the person knows what you want
3. Follow up in 1 week
4. Do not schedule a 1hr call smaller bite sized interactions, the other person may not have or want to talk to you for 30 mins.
5. Be outstanding in your ask vs doing some thing stupid to stand out. There is a very large difference between the two.
Be prepared for many nos. But be grateful of the yeses, if you are scripted, curated and fast, you can work through a bigger list than others. The worst that can happen is a NO, the best that can happen is a Yes who brings on other people who will also stay yes.

Outcomes
This week I will keep it short and share the best advice to better outcomes. Get started today, get started soon, get started period. Every thing to do with change, be it circumstances or jobs, or relationships is never easy.
But just thinking about change and not doing any thing is the serial killer of the human spirit.
Rob Lennon 🗯
Change is hard.

But it’s even harder when you don’t let yourself start.

1) Make a plan
2) Find accountability
3) Take small steps

It matters less how big the steps are. It matters more that you keep taking them.
One New Thing (That I Learnt some time back)
When you walk into the San Francisco office of the cloud network and security firm Cloudflare, you’re greeted by a receptionist–and a giant wall of 100 lava lamps. It isn’t just a throwback to the 1960s. The lava lamps act as a random number generator, helping to encrypt the requests that go through Cloudflare, which make up 10% of all internet requests. Cloudflare turns the “Wall of Entropy” into encryption using a camera that photographs the wall every millisecond of every day of the year. Any one of the company’s systems can turn the display of pixels–which changes based on a multitude of factors, like the movement of the lava, the inclusion of anyone who’s walking by, and the shifting daylight–into random numbers. Any tiny change in that photograph creates a completely random new set of inputs.
Boring stuff that Scales
Many of the most successful companies deliver software as a service as part of their business. SAAS.
So why not your boring old business? Why only software as a service? Why not take elements of this disruptive model and extend it to other offerings? Anything as a Service (XaaS). The global Everything as a Service (XaaS) Market size was USD 349.71 billion in 2020. The market is anticipated to grow from USD 419.02 billion in 2021 to USD 2,384.12 billion by 2028 at a CAGR of 28.2% during the 2021-2028 period. This vital information is presented by Fortune Business Insights™, in its report, titled, “Everything as a Service (XaaS) Market, 2021-2028.”
Ok so what does this mean for you? You can literally take any thing you have, skill, service, product and package it digitally and deliver it digitally. How?
Pick a stack, any, but do pick some thing and start selling online.
A potential stack?
• Carrd to make landing page
• Canva to make design
• Notion to write content
• Twitter to promote it
• TikTok to distribute it
• Gumroad to sell it
By the logic:
  • Company A has its sales reps manually making calls, they make 65 calls a day.
  • Company B has it sales reps making calls with click to dial technology allowing reps to see a phone number on their computer screen, click it, and their VOIP phone system starts automatically dialing for them. As a result of not having to manually enter phone numbers reps are able to product 85 calls a day.
What sales team above is set up for more success? It’s obvious.
This is the approach you need to apply to you goods and services and use a sales stack(combination to enhance your game)
What you should be watching
Some thing I cant really describe. It’s an interactive documentary on little Pakistan in Brooklyn, NYC. So a better description in the authors own words here:

Monetize your time
By asking 6 questions about your expertise. I read a long article here: TL;DR, If you do nothing else this week/weekend and focus on these six I assure you some one took the time to really crack the code here, this will help you get clarity and better outcomes with your time.
1. What single topic of expertise is your focus?
“I use my expertise to help people ______.”
2. What separates you from other experts in your field?
Choose traits few others have as opposed to opinions anyone can claim.
3. Who needs your expertise?
But it’s easier to sell to someone who seeks a solution than someone who doesn’t know they need one.
4. How will your expertise change a person’s life?
“People who pay for my expertise go from ______ to ______.”
5. What’s the best way to deliver your expertise?
The answer to this question informs how you package your expertise and format your product or service
6. What are your monetary goals?
Don’t be fooled: It’s easier than ever to monetize your expertise, but it won’t happen overnight and without significant time and effort.
Made in Pakistan (Climate Change Realities)
This is a reality, an opportunity a threat and the story of human devastation all rolled in to one. Climate change is real, if we dont do any thing about it, much like our political and governance night mares this will be one of our top issues in 5 years if not less.
Detailed report on this here.

I have been fortunate to have mentored founders, established CEO's & students for about a decade, across the world. Every interaction has been an enriching experience for me personally. What I've observed , every one wants to do things FASTer. Be successful faster, be richer faster, do more faster, get to the end state faster. To grow FASTer you must learn to rely on small data, small acts & pick up on small nuances. Most people need a little push, contextually aware advice, directionality and a candid forum to learn from mistakes, perhaps their own but ideally from the mistake of others. This is an attempt to provide a safe space to answer the questions you don't ask in public and providing Go To Market Snippets on every day things, so you can truly Transform to your desired end-state, FASTer.
