On this day in 1883, John Maynard Keynes was born.
(Apparently, the woke brigade have come to destroy his legacy of late…how richly ironic given his economics funded their rise to prominence… “A l'exemple de Saturne, la révolution dévore ses enfants” as the Genevan Jacques Mallet du Pan appropriately noted).

Macro Thoughts
City AM
A study by the University of Southampton estimates that an astonishing 95 percent of all global Covid-19 cases were avoidable had China alerted the world to the danger just three weeks earlier than it did on January 20.
PLY: Building on Hulsman’s article of last year in CapX, and last week’s excellent Spectator piece by Lord Ridley, John Hulsman goes for the jugular. He is not alone. The post-Covid scenario seems to be inferring that China bears a lot of blame for the original leak of Covid-19 and ironically the PRC has in many ways manifested the blame on itself through its remarkably heavy-handed attempts to divert blame from China to anywhere else…
Given the whitewash report of the WHO, it is fair to suggest this is nowadays the most useless global body in existence - despite there being considerable competition for that mantle amongst inept blob entities.
Brexit: Done
PLY: Nissan are reinvesting in the UK yet again: there is still time to repent, ye remoaners, the prodigal offspring Brexit repo door remains open…

Products like the AngelList rolling fund are great, but public, ongoing fundraising still largely benefits those who have networks to tap into in the first place…
