Parish Notes
The highlight of parish notes this week was seeing the first key man overboard from the Refinitiv saga. Make no mistake, it’s not about Danegeld but it looks like lasting longer than Wagner’s Ring and probably costing more than the more opulent performances of the genre, even if reimagined by a blingster rapper on expansive drugs.
Anyway David Craig exited as Refinitiv chief precisely one month to the day after we said he would. The first casualty as the LSEG’s Refinitiv big data play goes awry.
…the sort of predictions which we make amidst the pith of analysing the parish which precisely no other analysis service delivers. All new subscribers who want to stay ahead of the curve in the bourse business are welcome to hit reply and move up to the daily edition of Exchange Invest.
At least LSEG made Reuters dump their dumb idea to make the website subscriber only.

Its sclerotic long-term growth rate, overly-cosseted safety net, tangle of bureaucratic rules, and merely the perpetual difficulty in getting 27 different countries to agree on more than an ice cream flavour all explain its obvious decline. But, not least of all, its otherworldly view of the lack of need for force in an unruly world has hastened its downfall.
