This week we will remember
Geoffrey William Smith
Geoffrey served with Essex County Constabulary from 3 January, 1939 after first serving with the Grenadier Guards between 2 February 1935 and 7 December 1938.
After training at Headquarters he was stationed at Grays before he was recalled to his regiment on 4 December 1939. He died aged 26 on Wednesday, 24 March 1943 and left a widow, Eveline.

Richard Mason
The Chief Constable regrets to inform you of the sad death of our former colleague Richard Mason who retired as a D/Insp in 2007 and served at Chelmsford, Colchester and Crime. He passed away on the 16th December 2021 aged 69 years.
