I had an amazing 45th birthday. LOVED it. Pancakes. Movies (My Neighbor Totoro and Inside Out), neighborhood hike, picnic outside, board games and chocolate. Perfection.

New app play
I’ve made a deal with myself. I’m not sure if it truly helps, but hey, I’m giving it a go.
Every time that I download a new app, I make sure that I erase an app off of my iPhone. I can’t stand the clutter. I have way too much!
Why am I telling you this? Because I’m testing out a new app: Firefox Focus
“Firefox Focus is set by default to block many of the trackers that follow you around the Web. You don’t need to change privacy or cookie settings.  You can browse with peace of mind, feeling confident in the knowledge that you can instantly erase your sessions with a single tap – no menus needed.
Much of what makes mobile web pages slow is the technology used to track users on the web. Because Firefox Focus blocks these trackers, it is likely you’ll notice a performance boost on the many sites that track your behavior. When you occasionally see a site that doesn’t work because it is dependent on tracking, and if you don’t mind that kind of tracking, Firefox Focus makes it easy to open your current site in either Firefox or Safari.”
I think the number one reason I want to check this out is because I cannot stand how slow some sites load, not because I’m impatient, but because I have very very very limited speeds in our little home, and anything that can save me loading time on super slow bandwidth gets a big 👍🏽
And of course the whole tracking and cookies….b.l.a.h. And ad blocker!#bonus
Feeding the obsession
This is the nerdiest thing ever, but being a budding amateur pen-addict I’ve found my new favorite pen!
At this point and time, I’m sticking to the everyday type of pens that are super affordable, but make you feel awesome when you use them.
Remember, my criteria: cheap, easily replaced, feels great to write.
They have them at Amazon (aff) as well. That’s where I got mine, although JetPens is such a great site.
My next purchase: all the different colored ones!

April Eight Songs & Stories by April Eight on iTunes
I adore this podcast. Found out about it because she reached out to Jess and I for some help growing her show. I was FLOORED.
Let me tell you how I’ve used it:
● My girls were tearing the walls down after having a day at home ‘bored’ <cough>. I put this on. It got me almost 40 min of engaged time.
● My 5 year old had the tummy flu and stayed home with me. I put this on while she took a bath and she relaxed in there for almost 3 episodes! shocked.
Here’s a little behind the scenes of this producer: she writes all her own stories, and she doesn’t know how they’re gonna end, so she writes, records, but doesn’t know the rest!
She also has an amazing voice. Moms and Dads, add this to your arsenal of possible ‘escapes’. Who knows, it might just help you keep your sanity.
That’s all folks!
Hope you are well!
PS. On the latest She Podcasts, Jess and I covered the whole should you as a media creator, business, etc. protest or take a stand re: our current political climate in the U.S. This was THE most vulnerable that I’ve ever felt, sharing my experience as an immigrant that I’ve never spoken about before 😳 I still feel super uncomfortable about it! GAH!

Elsie's Emergency Excitement 💙 My latest obsessions and/or excitement about anything & everything (with a GIANT #podcasting industry bias): health, tech, software, books, TV shows, products, food, services, make-up, whatever is floating my boat right now ❇️ Excitement = spontaneous, because in all honesty, my excitement is lost within a few weeks or so...um...#fickle BUT STILL in the moment I am truly o.b.s.s.e.s.s.e.d.
