E. E. E. Volume 15

I almost didn’t get this out! Oh goodness gracious, working on gathering up the E-League has been absolutely usurping all my time.
I’m really interested in seeing at the end of all of this, how many hours I invested in all the things, from finally cleaning up my website to writing emails, to setting up the cart, to the social media posts and all that…and the fact that the idea hit me like a ton of bricks on the third week of March - so it’s not like it was “part of my schedule”.
Anyway, I’m happy with the way that it’s coming together!!! I’m shutting the doors on April 24 so if you want to work with me in this capacity, apply TODAY!
Here’s the WHY of these shoes: I love comfy shoes. Usually, comfy shoes are not ‘also’ cute. They tend to be tolerably nice (aka ugly), mainly because you see them all the time and your opinion starts to waiver, like Birkenstocks or Crocs.
Those two brands of shoes might have some more attractive styles than others, but for the most part, the comfiest ones are the ugly ones. And I LOOOOVE them.
The other thing that I love is height. I’m not short. I’m of average height 5’6”. I’ve never been the shortest one (maybe at a couple of basketball games, but then I was a point guard, so my height was perfect.) But, I really really really love to be taller than I am. I love feeling like an Amazon 😜
So these shoes! They’re kinda ‘hip,‘ they certainly look comfy, and they have a platform. Adore platforms! I want.
In my ears!
As I’ve been starting to work with my E-Leaguer’s, I’ve been asked for some voice work. Now, I’ve studied voice and have certainly done a lot of work on my voice, but haven’t ‘taught’ why I know how to do what I know how to do with it.
Through some current voice studies, I’ve gleaned a better understanding of the impact of voice, and have named it Dynamic Expression.
Well, in the podcast below, the WHOLE PODCAST is dynamically expressive!
I wonder if it’s a culture thing 😜
LOVE the sound of this podcast, all around, the music, the conversations and the voices of the hosts, especially Julio Ricardo Varela.
There are a lot of political podcasts out there that can be a little dry, and sometimes while listening you can space out, I’ve found that it’s hard for me to do that with In The Thick because they are soooooooo vibrant!
I want you guys to listen to the energy in their audio branding and style AND stay for how well crafted this podcast is. One of my top 5 as of late.
Bedtime reading
The girls and I have been reading chapter books at night. And I adore this time we have together.
This book was so poignant and beautiful.
This was the first book that I cried while I read to them and couldn’t get through a chapter 😓 I was so moved! I don’t think I would have cried if I had been reading in my mind but ‘acting it out’ and saying the words - man oh man.
It’s NOT a sad book; it simply has a scene that’s pretty powerful emotionally.
Ok, well, fine, the concept is sad, but the way that it’s told is NOT. I’ll just leave it at that. By far, one of my favorite books we’ve read to date. Simply, beautiful
Parting thoughts
I wish I could say that I’m off to celebrate and hang with the family, but alas, I am not. This is a very jam packed working weekend. The girls will be dyeing eggs with Daddy though!
That’s good!
Next week, I’ll be coming to you from another physical location! I look forward to filling you guys in 😙
PS. I was just on one of my friend’s podcast talking about my transition from a yoga teacher, to a podcaster, to podcast ‘coach’ to my latest iteration into the realm of advocacy. This convo we have is fabulous and intense. You guys, if you’re interested in the power of voice, podcasting and exactly what part advocacy plays in our life, LISTEN (and the pic she uses, is when I was a bike riding yoga teacher in L.A.!).
Did you enjoy this issue? Yes No
