EVOCATIONS - It's been a pack fest

around here for weeks. Many of our sentences start with “Where’s the … ,” “What about the … ,” or “What happened to that … ?” I’ve mostly served in a supervisorial role, and my DH deserves a medal for his creative and pristine packing. “It’s not my first rodeo,” he says. But everything Wafler is now boxed for the apt. or the storage facility. Wait! Where’s the dog? The moving van arrives today!

I got my post-surgical cast off yesterday–yippie skippy! Scratching what the plaster cocoon was covering is just delicious! I’m now in a removable, plastic, and velcro splint for another month. So ready for complete healing and independence! I have book signings and other fun adventures to look forward to in South Carolina!

So excited about the publication of an article about GEORGIE GIRL and me in the Baylor School Magazine this week. This is the all-boys school (now co-ed) campus on which I grew up, and the inspiration for the setting and some of the characters in the book. The magazine has a massive readership, and I’m hoping it will generate sales! I’m also now on Amy Isaman’s Dear Creativity, Let’s Write podcast schedule. On August 18th, I’ll be discussing how I develop characters and write realistic and compelling dialogue with Amy on her show. Can’t wait for that! My marketing coach states, “Podcasts sell books.” I aim to appear on as many shows as possible until I kick off my own off in the fall. Not exactly sure what that is going to look like yet, but pssst … since you’re an insider, the name will be The Evocative Writer!
