It is widely believed that once the pandemic ends, edtech will still have an increased role to play in the new normal of education around the world, with online and hybrid learning becoming more and more prominent. However, there are still good reasons not to overstate this effect. We must consider the cost-effectiveness, user-friendliness and appropriateness of content when determining edtech’s suitability for particular settings. In addition, obstacles such as a lack of funding or training, inadequate infrastructure, lack of devices and limited connectivity might prevent some uses of edtech.
