Updates from our studio.

In this issue; feedback on our new order form, new tools and calculators on our website, a new member of staff and a change to the courier company we use for delivering your orders. It’s another busy update! 

Our Order Form
Launched in August, our new order form has been used for over 40% of our print orders since its arrival - which is great - the form has worked so well that it has also meant we’ve had a much busier summer than usual.
We’ve had lots of feedback and we’ve learnt from each order that’s been placed, we’ve already made a few changes to how the form works and we’ll continue to do so in the future.
If you’ve used it and have a suggestion to how we can improve it, please let us know - just reply to this email with your comments. If you’ve not used it yet; we hope you’ll take a look and try it with your next order;
New Online Tools & Calculators
We’ve given our website a bit of a refresh this week and added some tools to help you get image sizes and print quotes quickly. Within our new Tools & Calculators page you can now quickly send us images using our new Dropbox, find out the largest size your image will print (from the pixel dimensions of your image), find out the size of image you’ll need to send to us for a specific print size, and get quotes for prints and canvas prints (with additional stretching too). Use the link below to try them out;
A New Courier Service
For a long time we’ve used APC for sending our larger orders and next day deliveries. With everything we do we’ve looked to improve our services and last week we signed up with DPD. Their service provides greater detail for each order we dispatch including;
  • A text message and/or email on the day of dispatch.
  • A text message and/or email on the day that your order is due to arrive, with a one hour time slot, along with your driver’s name!
  • Options to defer your delivery to different day, to leave it in a safe place, or to deliver it to a neighbour.
  • Tracking of your delivery from when it’s 15 minutes away.
  • If you ask for your order to be left with a neighbour or in a safe place, the driver will send you a picture message to show you where.
  • There’s also an iOS and Android app!
We’ll also be using DPD for European deliveries of orders that are too large or heavy for Airmail.
Our New Member of Staff
After a false start recruiting over the summer, we will finally be welcoming a new member of staff to the team next week. Katherine will be joining us in the studio, she’ll be working on the final stages of your print orders, finishing your prints, checking to make sure quality control is up to our high standards, and packing your prints ready for dispatch. Katherine has a keen interest in photography and the print industry, we’re really looking forward to her joining the team.
Christmas Turnaround Times
I know, we mentioned the ‘C’ word. Christmas isn’t that far away and during the last months of the year we know we’ll be busier than ever. We adjust our turnaround times each year and give ourselves an extra day to guarantee being able to meet the times we set;

  • Prints: 5 working days
  • Mounted Prints & Backed/Wrapped Prints: 11 working days
  • Framed Prints & Stretched Canvas Prints: 13 working days
We’ve updated our order form to include these lead times and we’ll email again nearer to Christmas with our last ordering dates.
