Insightful newsletter of Drishtikone
They have appropriated the high road to themselves. Arrogated, if you will. Fascist in actions, intent, moral ethics and ways, they have large signs and clunky loud-speakers declaring themselves as ‘liberals’. That they aren’t.
The mic and the platforms they had encroached upon to stifle every other voice are tools of fascism. They need to be dismantled.
Those who gang-raped the truth and journalistic ethics, cannot be allowed to continue on anymore with impunity.
It is time for News Satyagrah.
Shed the media of the fascist-liberals and ensure that news portrays the facts the way they are. Those who are with it need only survive.
The charkha of right intent should weave the fabric of the future media.

The one quote that defines the fundamental expression of liberal outlook in a society is the one that is erroneously attributed to Voltaire. They first originated with an English author named Evelyn Beatrice Hall in 1906, but were later wrongly attributed to Voltaire)
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.
Freedom to express is at the heart of a free society. The problem with the group in India, which poses as the liberal elite is that they have been anything but.
Whether it was Nehru who threw Majrooh Sultanpuri into jail for alluding to Nehru as Hitler, even when Nehru is held as the paragon of liberal governance or Indira Gandhi or Rajiv Gandhi - the central governments have been decidedly and steadfastly against criticism.
This is the first time in free Indian history that people have unlimited latitude to criticize the government and everyone associated with it - even by employing falsehoods. They employ shameless falsehoods and expect no action.
These people pronounce whom they want as bad and fake and provide judgment to persecute them. Prashant Bhushan, the shamelessly fascist lawyer is on record to suggest that serial FIRs be filed against Opindia and Nupur Sharma which hold no ground.

OpIndia is a godi media portal created to spread hateful fake news. They are committing serious offences under the Penal Code. Why are they having a free run? Time for people to lodge FIRs against them & for the police at least in Opp run States to hold them accountable https://t.co/KhldUgM9bD
And, the fascist-liberal mobs and trolls did just that. The worst of the opposition run state - West Bengal - started its process of persecuting Opindia’s daring and fearless mother-turned- editor Nupur Sharma and her family. She, her husband and father were taken in for hours of interrogation forcing them to delete articles that had been published in Opindia. There was no basis to all that.
Nupur J Sharma vs The State of West Bengal: A little story about OpIndia that was not mentioned in the Supreme Court Nupur J Sharma vs The State of West Bengal: A little story about OpIndia that was not mentioned in the Supreme Court
I understand some part of how to run an opinions website with the technical complexities of making it successful. The extent, the expanse, the depth and quality of work that Opindia presents is just superhuman. To target someone like Nupur Sharma who has worked so hard - in the way that the West Bengal government did, is not just undemocratic, it is downright wicked.
it is time for a new media
We have come to a point in our democratic societies where the most fascist have usurped the high roads of morality and are using that vantage to shoot everyone who passes by the thoroughfare of journalism.
It is time to dismantle these pretenders.
It is time to dismantle the media itself.
Just as Indians are pledging to not buy the Chinese goods - they also need to pledge that
  • they will cut out all the news channels, except TimesNow and Republic.
  • they will not buy newspapers anymore
No TV fake news and journalists. No newspapers.
Cut their chord. It is time to take charge of news for it defines us.
Spend that money on donating to Opindia. Please support them so they can create the network of real reporting that is needed.
The renaissance of journalism will have to be built upon the buried carcasses of the current, defunct and pretend media. The new edifice of our media will include structures that speak the truth.
Nothing less should suffice.
what the heck?
That’s every 3rd flight you take in Pakistan is being flown by a guy who probably may not even have a car driving license. Safe travels guys!!
Almost 1 in 3 pilots in Pakistan have fake licenses, aviation minister says
You can fool all of the world with shenanigans. But how can you fool your own people? This disenchantment comes at a cost.

meet without noise
Google Meet’s new AI-powered background noise feature is being rolled out. It had been announced way back in April for the G Suite Enterprise and G Suite Enterprise for Education customers. Here is G Suite’s director of product management Serge Lachapelle noise from crackling crisp packets, clicking pens, or glass clinking is canceled out. Pretty neat huh! Recycled Aluminum: Aluminum is one of the most recycled – and most recyclable – materials on the market today. Nearly 75 percent of all aluminum produced in the U.S. is still in use today. Aluminum can be recycled directly back into itself over and over again in a true closed loop. Time to move from plastic to aluminum? (Source)
Roads and CO2: Stiffening 10% of the nation’s roads every year could prevent 440 megatons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions over the next five decades. That amount equals how much CO2 you’d spare the planet by keeping a billion barrels of oil in the ground. Or by growing seven billion trees, for a decade (Source)
Belly and Dementia: As belly size gets larger, the memory center in the brain gets smaller: Belly fat in older women is linked to a 39% higher risk of dementia. For men and women over 50, the dementia risk is 28% when taking body mass index and waist circumference into account together, the study said. (Source)

Very few in the world take on China. Most of the governments - even in the West - have cowed down in front of China. The only exception being India.
The reason for this pusillanimity globally is the multiple wars that China has been waging. And winning.
Here is an indepth take on what China has been doing for last 3 decades and how it is impacting the world by renowned author and film-maker, Vivek Agnihotri. The man who bared Urban Naxals to us all and forced us to ask questions on the death of ex-Indian PM Lal Bahadur Shastri’s sudden death via his movie “Tashkent Files”.
In the new VRA TV initiative, Vivek has started something that was missing in India - serious, long form, factual and mature commentary on important topics.
No loud noise, no sound effects, no dramatics. Just facts.
Plain facts.
