Welcome to another issue of the End Times Berean Watchman Report!
I was talking to a friend this week about where this is all going, and how it feels a bit like things are normalizing somewhat. There is a sense that as bad as some indicators are, in many ways life just continues on like it always has. If this is really the end, shouldn’t things be a lot crazier right now?
Here are a few thoughts about that…

Slowly turning up the heat
We are currently in the midst of a massive global transition. The whole world is being steered towards a pre-determined outcome, which is globalism, under technocratic management for the presumed greater good of all people. However, man’s fallen human nature will always ensure that such a system will be oppressive to the commoner and self-serving for the elites of the system.
To successfully implement this transition, though, there is a need to bring people along slowly, or at least in stepped transitions. If the changes are too radical, then the proverbial frogs would just jump out of the pot because the heat was being turned up too quickly. Therefore, we need to guard against being lulled into complacency by periods of moderate change and false normalcy (i.e., adjusting to all the little changes without noticing the enormous changes over time).
Plus, we need to remember Jesus’ warning that there would be some degree of normalcy all the way up to the end.
26 “Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. 27 People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.
28 “It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. 29 But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. – Luke 17:26-29 (NIV)
This tells us that as crazy as things get, there will always be some degree of normalcy until the return of the Lord and his full wrath is poured out. People will be buying and selling, eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building–that sounds pretty normal!
Grateful for the pacing
Hence, we should be watchful and on guard, but so grateful that things are not worse than they are. I’m trying to make the most of every day with my family, and to faithfully do the work that God has given me to do each day. These last days are a marathon, not a sprint, so we just need to settle in for the ride while we seek first his kingdom, because it’s the only thing really worth living for.
Next week...
I’m going to start releasing some small portions of the book in this newsletter. I’ll begin with portions from the first chapter (How Jesus and the Disciples Interpreted Prophecy) which will look at some principles for understanding prophecy that come from analyzing some the prophecies that we are told were fulfilled in the Gospels during Christ’s first advent. I think you’re going to find it helpful in understanding some of the more complex prophetic passages.
Until then, may God richly bless you all!
