If you’re like me, you don’t smash new records often. Why? You’re stuck and you plateau. What, then? Deload.

I wrote about deloads on our blog:

In a study, Ogasawara et al. (2013) divided 14 young men at random into 2 groups. Group 1 trained non-stop for 6 months. Group 2 trained for 6 weeks, then took 3 weeks off, and so on for 6 months. After 6 months, both groups improved strength and hypertrophy in a similar fashion. This suggests that deloading won’t slow your gains.
