I’ve missed writing to you.
How are you? I hope the universe has been good to you and you’re having a good time living in this world.
I have decided to move the newsletter to Twitter’s Revue. I made this decision after I got wind of some unsettling news regarding Substack. It turns out Substack is paying transphobes to write on its platform and in response, trans people and their allies are boycotting it. This post has more information on the issue.
This isn’t just cancel culture at play.
In a time where Twitter and other platforms are permanently banning bigots from their platforms, Substack is choosing to do the opposite plus more. Asides giving terfs a platform, Substack is also paying them hundreds of thousands of dollars to publish on its site. This is something we need to speak against, hence, the boycott.
I want to apologise for my unexplained absence. The last few weeks have been tasking and I had to channel what little energy I had towards my exams.
I’m back and better and you can expect letters every Friday.
If you follow my Twitter, you’ve probably seen that I’m planning to celebrate Pride Month by publishing stories written by queer people about living as a queer person in Africa. If this is something that interests you and you would like to contribute, please reach out to me so we can work it out.
The stories will be published on a Medium Publication created for this purpose.
With love and everything nice,
Did you enjoy this issue?
