Hey friends,
As I’ve been building my company Credo, I’ve realized that in order to have a chance of succeeding as an entrepreneur you have to upgrade your mindset.
Now, I’m not the most woo-woo of people. I resisted meditation for a long time. I don’t take mind-enhancing supplements. I tend to be skeptical of a lot of things like “setting your intention” or “the habits of millionaires”.
But, I think there are people out there who are pointing us towards a higher mentality, to be better people, and to think much bigger about our lives than just the specific things we do day in and day out.
If we are fortunate to be in the position to do so, we should live for something much bigger than ourselves, and look to substantially impact those around us. Honestly, this is why I drive myself so hard.
There are a few podcasts I listen to these days that do a great job of leveling up my mindset, inspiring me, and whose hosts I look up to in one way or another.
So today I’m sharing those with you.
First, Lewis Howes’s School of Greatness podcast. Lewis is a former pro athlete turned lifestyle entrepreneur (he and I have both been guests on Brian’s Clark’s Unemployable) who does incredible in-depth interviews with people you may or may not heard of who will change your mindset. I recommend that you start with his interview with Kobe Bryant about the Mamba Mentality. I’ve listened to it at least four times myself.
Second, Chase Jarvis’s Chase Jarvis Live podcast. Chase is the CEO/Founder of online learning platform Creative Live, and is also a world-renowned photographer. This podcast is more geared towards the creative professional and entrepreneur, so he has awesome advice for creatives and service business owners. I recommend starting with his interview with Scott Belsky of 99U (video here). You should also listen to his episode with my friend Rand Fishkin.
Thirdly, I have a new one for you. It’s the Empire Podcast with entrepreneurs Bedros Keuilian and Craig Ballantyne. These guys have both built incredible businesses, with Bedros’s Fit Body Bootcamp franchise being one of the fastest growing franchises in the US. Craig was his first business coach, and is a super smart businessman. If you want to get pumped up to think bigger about your life and impact in the world and your industry, this is the podcast for you. It’s super actionable to say the least. I actually recommend starting with his most recent episode, How to be a self-made millionaire. I PROMISE it’s not as cheesy as it sounds. These dudes are the real deal.
So there you go, my three podcasts I am listening to right now to upgrade my mindset as an entrepreneur.
What others should I add into the rotation?
