We’ve spent the weekend being inspired by teams building solutions for Mental Health at the Vibewire #Hack4MentalHealth hackathon in Sydney. The amazing solutions pitched at the end of the event were all worthy winners, but at the end of the day there were only so many prizes to award and a difficult decision had to be made by the fabulous judges.
The winning entries were:
Highly Commended: DeloitteFull - a team that built a personal assistant, Kai, which responded to client interactions with coloured light and voice controls to help manage health.
3rd Place: Natural Connections - a team that built an application that tracked the location of users to encourage time in nature to encourage positive mental health.
Equal 2nd Place: Sonify - a team that used music to display mental health data, to generate insights and as music therapy.
Equal 2nd Place: AuXR - a team that built a prototype VR experience to teach kids with autism how to deal with stressful situations.
1st Place: Journey Mate - a team that built a web platform for clients and carers to monitor and follow up on mental well-being.
Thank you to all the sponsors, mentors and brilliant team at Vibewire for another amazing example of innovation for social benefit.
And we at Disruptor’s Handbook are not slowing down. Some of the team are off to Melbourne today to run another one-day corporate hackathon tomorrow for a global tech brand, in collaboration with the fabulous peeps at edgelabs
. Delighted to be spreading the innovation love around the country!
