Financial inclusion is a difficult concept to grasp. It encompasses so many things - housing affordability, access to credit, equity of income opportunity, reducing poverty and regulation of the financial services sector.  But because it’s a broad concept, the opportunities for innovation are similarly diverse.
Last weekend, the Disruptors supported and mentored at the Vibewire Hack4Financial Inclusion in Sydney, where teams built solutions to wicked problems of financial inclusion. The event was held once again at the MnM Institute and supported by NCOSS, Jewish House, Minerva Collective, iCare, DFSI, and Frollo. And once again, fantastic ideas were surfaced from the teams that competed for both cash and goods prizes.
Winners on the day were:
3rd Prize - $ecure - a team that have a solution that aims to reduce impulse buying among women, by sending suggestions and warnings on budget expenditure per week.
2nd Prize - YouDoYou - a team with a solution that educates younger women on financial security.
1st Prize winner - Bunji - a recommendation engine for indigenous businesses and experiences.
For further information on the event, head over to the Vibewire blog and check out the great products built.
