Collaborating in Melbourne and Singapore

Last week the Disruptors visited Melbourne and at our usual coffee mornings event we caught up with some old friends and made some new ones.  Spanning enterprise and small business, the attendees shared their experiences of problem solving and innovation-at-scale in a way that could inspire new business as much as solve one another’s business problems.  This is the kind of collaboration that matters. As collaboration commentators have noted, events where you can bring together connectors across domains is key to unearthing lasting potential relationships.
A crucial asset is your relationships with “connectors,” people who already bridge specialty domains and organizational boundaries and who can refer you to potential collaborators. Not only do connectors help you identify the expertise you need — they also serve as “honest brokers,” vetting potential collaborators’ competence and character.
We will be exploring new relationships again in a couple of weeks in Singapore, starting with coffee mornings sessions there on 28th June and 5th July. And we are hoping to run a panel session on innovation in government, probably in the evening of the 4th July.  Let us know if we should be connecting with people in Singapore in your network. We’d be happy to meet and help forge connections between groups where problems can be solved and innovation can happen.
