As the world comes to term with another episode of terror in the streets of London, it is worth remembering the great spirit of Londoners, and how they do keep carrying on. As awful as incidents get, and as devastating, Londoners have a habit of banding together after a crisis, helping those in need, cleaning up and moving on.
It is easy to become dispirited when you witness so many instances of horror, prejudice, small-mindedness or even mere ignorance. It’s much harder to steel oneself against the onslaught and to keep helping others, keep creating, keep trying to make things better.
But that’s exactly what we need to do. When people come together to help solve problems, great things can happen. So keep innovating. It’s our greatest defence.
