Hey there!

I’ll be doing a one-day workshop in Austin on November 20. Early bird tickets are on sale now, and you can get $100 off with the coupon code jakeaustin100. (It will only be my second time ever in Austin, so recommendations are welcome!) The San Francisco bootcamp is sold out, but I’m planning to do another event in California soon-ish.

This week I have five things to share:

1. All the sprint videos in one place
I finally got around to collecting all my design sprint videos on one page. There are a couple introductory videos (perhaps useful for explaining the idea to newbies) and all our how-to videos. Sprint Videos Page

2. How to convince your boss to run a design sprint
I was inspired to do #1 because AJ&Smart has been cranking out cool design sprint videos on their YouTube channel. I really liked this one on convincing execs to sprint. Watch on YouTube (4 min. Warning: bad words.)

3. Why design sprints are so much better than normal meetings
This post by Jobina Hardy gives a product manager’s perspective on sprints. Read on Mind the Product

4. Perfecting app design with sprints
As I was starting my new life as a full-time writer, I came across the iPhone app Block & Flow. It’s simple-yet-sophisticated design helped me establish my new writing habit, so I enjoyed reading this post about the app’s development using modified design sprints. Read on Medium

5. Sticking with Revue for now
Several of you wrote in to say you preferred the new format, a couple of you hate it. I’m going to keep it for now because it’s easier to create but I’d still love to hear your feedback about format/content/etc. Writing a newsletter is a weird thing… kind of a one-way conversation! Feel free to reply, I’m always glad to hear what you think so I can make this better. 💪

And thanks for reading! If you’d like to help spread the word, you can forward this newsletter to a friend, buy a book for somebody, or write a review. If it’s your first time reading, I hope you’ll subscribe. Till next time, all my best.
