This summer, more than others, has flown by. We’re fast approaching my favorite time of year in New England: fall!
Here’s what I’ve been up to this summer.

Mt. Chocorua and Champney Falls
I wrapped up my spring waterfall season with a hike up Mt Chocorua. The Champney Falls Trail climbs the north side of Chocorua and passes both Champney and Pitcher Falls on the way. Click below to read the whole blog post:

Cape Cod Train Bridge Sunset Timelapse
At the end of Memorial Day weekend I drove out to the Cape Cod Canal at sunset to take a timelapse of the CapeFLYER train heading back to Boston. After a rainy weekend, the clouds were moving quickly over the canal and the train crosses right at sunset in front of some beautiful orange light.
Summer Sunset over Barnstable Harbor
Back in June, I checked out a spot along Barnstable Harbor that I’ve had on my bucket list for a long time. There are a bunch of different viewpoints along the north side of Cape Cod that look out over the water and Sandy Neck. This one has a great boardwalk through the marsh with a view towards Sandy Neck Lighthouse.
Stormy Sunset at Nubble Lighthouse
On this particular evening, the clouds were heavy and low just until sunset. I decided to head out to photograph sunset at Nubble Lighthouse anyways and spent twenty minutes exploring the rocky coastline. Just as the sun set to the west, the storm clouds moving in lit up brilliantly yellow and orange. The light was very bright and reflected on the water crashing on the rocks beautifully. Mercifully, everyone kept their headlights off, too!

Up Next
September and October, depending on the year, contain the peak of foliage season in New England. I’m planning on a full week up in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine to explore new spots and hike around in the woods.
