We think, each of us, that we’re much more rational than we are. And we think that we make our decisions because we have good reasons to make them. Even when it’s the other way around. We believe in the reasons, because we’ve already made the decision. Daniel Kahneman
I know that the majority of firms really have a positive impact on equity, diversity and inclusion. At the same time, firms are using algorithms or thinking about implementing them without a clear-cut explanation of how the algorithms work. This is, both, the fault of the firms by not asking or understanding the inner workings of the algorithms and the fault of the vendors by not clearly stating how they work. 
People Management is supposed to be the business function in charge of managing people at work. But we are also the the employee champion and change agent. Championing the change toward a more equal workplace means to check for the implications of the technology used.   
This is why the 9th issue of || NERD WORDS for HR || gathers talks, articles, and resources about the topic of biases in algorithms. As always, I have included my implications for HR as an important business function.
