Daily Overview
Nearly all the land in Yoakum County, Texas, is used for farming or oil and gas production. As time has passed, more and more farms have switched to center-pivot irrigation — which results in circular-shaped fields. Between 1986 and 1996, land in the USA using this irrigation method increased by more than 50%. The darker patches of land in this Overview contain oil wells and pumpjacks.
