A seaplane flies over the Chatham Islands, located off the east coast of Oak Bay, British Columbia, Canada. The islands are named for the HMS Chatham, an escort ship of the HMS Discovery, which British Explorer Captain George Vancouver used to chart the coastline of British Columbia between 1792 and 1794. They are part of Chatham Islands Indian Reserve, under the control of the Songhees First Nation.
