A fish farming operation is seen here in the Saronic Gulf, just offshore Greece’s Attica Peninsula. Fish farming — or pisciculture — involves raising fish in tanks or enclosures, usually for food. In 2015, Greece had at least 300 of these farms and raised more than 242 million pounds (109 million kg) of fish and mussels.
