Daily Overview
Granada is the sixth most populous city in Nicaragua, with a municipal population of roughly 123,000. Founded in 1524 by Spanish conquistadors, it is credited by some as being the first European city in mainland America. Since the city evolved centuries before the advent of motorized vehicles, most of its streets are narrow and even today allow only one-way traffic.
