Daily Overview
Hurricane Ian tore across the Florida Peninsula early this morning, causing widespread damage and leaving millions without power. Florida has a mean elevation of just 100 feet (30 m) and many of its cities are built along canals, leaving them especially vulnerable to flooding caused by storm surges. These Overviews show the communities of Cape Coral, Naples and Rotonda West, all of which were hit hard by Hurricane Ian.
