Daily Overview
In the past week, multiple brushfires have broken out across New South Wales and Queensland, Australia. This image, captured by the European Space Agency’s Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellite on 9/8, shows smoke rising from the Yuraygir National Park area roughly 160 miles (258 km) south of Brisbane. More than 600 firefighters were dispatched to fight the blazes, which are now reportedly contained after damaging multiple homes and other buildings.
