The weather, currently.
Rain most of today as a system pushes in, with highs around in the upper 40s and lows in the upper 30s. This system is quite typical, and will bring showers and moderate rain at times. Ensembles are still pointing toward a period of cold and potentially snowy weather for not only the mountains, but even the lowlands– so stay tuned. Details (and this cannot be stressed enough) are remarkably uncertain. We could see anything from briefly chilly weather to a travel-impacting, multi-day winter weather event that stretches out into the New Year. We’ll have to see what models arrive upon eventually. — Kavin Iyengar

Currently is going on a short ‘Alert Only’ mode for winter break! We won’t be sending out our daily newsletters until after the new year, but we will send you an alert if there is anything major coming your way. Currently will be back to our normal 5 days a week starting January 4th— and look out for some new surprises and updates in 2022. Thank you for your support so far in 2021, we couldn’t do this without you!
Here is a playlist for you to enjoy during our brief hiatus, brought to you by Currently’s DC weather reporter— Adam Powers.
Here are their words about the mix!
“Having made it beyond the Winter Solstice into longer and lighter days, you deserve a gift. Here’s a playlist mix made for you with winterlike weather-referencing songs which veer away from consumer/holiday themes to keep it on calming balmy vibes: Said of Winter.”

This will be the wettest November in the history of Canada's west coast — if weather models hold.

Three more atmospheric rivers are arriving to the flood-soaked British Columbia coast over the next few days.
