Windy fire weather during Thanksgiving
Windy fire weather during Thanksgiving
It’s time for Thanksgiving! I’ll be enjoying a Friendsgiving dinner in Los Angeles this Thursday, cooking up some roasted Brussels sprouts to go with our turkey and mashed potatoes. It’s supposed to be in the high 70s for the rest of the week, so you’ll have to create the illusion of harvest season with your autumnal table centerpieces and a construction paper hand-shaped turkey on the door. At night, you’ll get to role play the Northeast with lows running from the high 40s to the low 50s.
While the skies will be mostly clear and sunny, unfortunately, we have more Santa Ana winds bringing fire danger during the holiday. Hopefully nothing will come of it, but stay alert. By Saturday, the wind will be cold again, and you’ll have plenty of leftover stuffing. — Renée Reizman

He said: “We’re taking our future back. When Australia decides it’s going to destroy it’s people through ecocide, the people will rise up”.
A 22-year-old Australian climate activist has been sentenced to a year in jail for blockading coal trains. The protestor, Eric Serge Herbert, stopped a coal train in Newcastle, by climbing on top of it. Read more from The Guardian here. — Abbie Veitch
