It’s #CurrentlySpring (aka meteorological spring) What are you doing to get ready for the season change?

Are you prepping seedlings? Taking your dog for more walks? Have you seen the first few flower sprouts? Reply with your personal first signs of spring 🌸🌿🌦🦋🐥
We are almost one week into meteorological spring— and two weeks away from the start of astronomical spring in the Northern Hemisphere.
You are probably most familiar with astronomical spring, which falls on or around March 20 and is associated with the vernal equinox. Meteorological spring is comprised of three months (March, April, and May) and is used by meteorologists to compare annual temperature cycles and trends.
Like the old saying “March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb,” the start of March can chilly and bring storms. March weather can also change suddenly and feel a little all over the place.
In North America, parts of the midwest and west are gearing up for flurries this week— while on the East coast several states and cities had record highs today. In D.C. we almost hit 80°F.
Either way, people are starting to feel the tell-tale signs of winter easing its way out. Here’s a fun thread where Currently community members are sharing their spring signs using the hashtag #CurrentlySpring.
Some folks are getting their gardens prepped, seeing crocuses, and deep cleaning their homes. Others people are still snowboarding, making snowmen, and clearing ice off the sidewalk. Let us know on Twitter what your personal spring signs are! —Abbie Veitch

Heads up Californians. We are (once again) on a record-setting pace for drought this year. 💔
