As you’ll soon discover in my latest article
, I’m now “maxinated” and learning what it means to reengage with society once again. Lockdown isn’t yet over in Portland, so in some ways things don’t feel much different. But that’s likely to change before the end of the month—here in the U.S. at least. After the catastrophes of last year and feeling like a global failure, we’re pulling ahead for once. But my heart goes out to other parts of the world where the pandemic is very much active.
So it remains to be seen how the rest of the year plays out…yet I’m feeling quite optimistic that domestic travel will start to feel safe again and us Work-From-Home (WFH) freelancer types will start to wonder why in god’s name we’re still in sweats squinting at the computer display on our home office desks.
I’ve noticed quite a few people posting on Twitter they’re taking time off, switching jobs, changing it up in some fashion. Yeah, 14+ months of pandemic life will do that to ya. Not surprising in the least! I’m just deeply fascinated by what this all means for creators, remote work, digital nomadism, and all the rest. Everyone seems to agree there’s no going back to exactly how it was pre-Covid. It’s just that nobody can agree what the “new” normal will actually be.
Stay tuned! 😅
