This week we’ll dive into the French Croque Monsieur. Served as a quick snack at cafés and bars since 1910. The name is based on the verb croquer (“to crunch”) and the word monsieur (“mister”).
Traditionally made with French ham and Gruyere cheese pressed between two slices of bread and preferably topped with a béchamel sauce. Let’s get to it and cook up some delicious croque monsieur of your own.
