President Biden said:
“If you think you need to have weapons to take on the government, you need F-15s and maybe some nuclear weapons.”
The problem with this argument is it ignores many times insurgencies have caused many problems for armies that are bigger and much more well-equipped. This includes insurgencies in Iraq and Afghanistan, not to mention the Viet Cong. It is a simplistic argument that ignores history.
President Biden’s argument also assumes that there would not be an open revolt and mutiny in the U.S. military if they are ever ordered to go to war with the American people, plus the various National Guards resisting.
Finally, just from a strategic standpoint, the President will not use nuclear weapons on the American people. If we did not use nukes on the Viet Cong, the Islamic State or al-Qaeda, we are not using nuclear weapons on American soil to put down an armed rebellion. It is just not going to happen.
Biden is repeating a meme popular among Leftists on social media, not making a serious policy argument. The American people deserve better from our President than memes.

President Biden: "The 2nd Amendment from the day it was passed limited the type of people who could own a gun, and what type of weapon you could own. You couldn't buy a cannon ... If you think you need weapons to take on the govt, you need F-15s & maybe some nuclear weapons." https://t.co/BdfI9pbmVh
