Hebrew Q&A
In Genesis 15:6, what nuance, if any, does the Hiphil/causative form of “believed” (וְהֶאֱמִין) indicate about the nature of Abram’s response to the divine promise of innumerable descendants?

The Last Word
After Noah let the animals go from the Ark, he noticed that two of the snakes were not breeding.
When he pointed this out to his son Shem, who had minded the Reptiles section during the voyage, Shem made a wooden table from tree trunks, put the snakes on the table, and they immediately started copulating.
Noah was stunned.
“How did you know that would happen?” he asked his son.
