The Last Word
Two high ranking officers went out of the base to do a trip in the nature. After two hours they came back to the base. Then John noticed he lost his gun.
John: “I can’t believe it, I lost my gun!”
Michel: “Damn! Me too!”
John: “What are we going to do? We are screwed!”
Michel: “Wait a minute. Since we are both high ranking officers, we are entitled to judge. So let’s judge one the other, thus we wouldn’t have to be judged by other high ranking officer who will find us both guilty.”
John: “Great plan!”
And so, they both wear their representative uniform.
Michel enters the office, and sits on the chair. Then a knock.
Michel: “Come in.”
John comes in and salutes.
Michel: “John: on this day two and a half hours ago, you returned from a trip, and you lost your gun. Do you admit or deny?”
John: “I admit.”
Michel: “Well. Tell me how it happened.”
John starts to tell what exactly happened, and that he’s sorry and that it would never happen again.
Michel: “I see. I’ll let off this time with only a warning.”
John thanks Michel and salutes him, then exits the room.
Now they swap roles: John is on the chair and Michel is outside the room waiting to be judged. And then the whole same thing happens:
Michel enters the office, and sits on the chair. Then a knock.
John: “Come in.”
Michel comes in and salutes.
And so Michel admits the crime and starts to explain what happened and that he’s sorry and it won’t happen again.
