Hey everyone!
Some personal/professional news! I got featured in Technical.ly. 🎉
Lesson learned from this week is to ask for help and to ask for things that you want.
I saw that Technical.ly was doing a Technologists of Color Month. I had an internal conversation: I am a technologist of color but am I worthy? It’s already the end of the month. It’s too late. What would I even say in this email? ahhh. Who do I even reach out?
I asked my friend Kelly who is in PR to go over my email. She told me that I am very much underselling myself 😅. I revised it with her suggestions and sent it off. They responded saying that I was on their radar and interviewed me right away.
Take that chance. Let others say no if it isn’t a good fit.
Happy reading!

A test is not a unit test if:

It talks to the database

It communicates across the network

It touches the file system

It can't run at the same time as any of your other unit tests

You have to do special things to your environment (such as editing config files) to run it. https://t.co/KHMjMOXy6K
