  • Once seen as a major underdog, open source has orchestrated a dramatic rise to become one of the hottest segments in software. In fact, the market is on pace to more than double in the next five years, reaching a meteoric $50 billion. Only a few years ago, there was skepticism about the viability of open source. Fast-forward to today and open source experience is among the most in-demand technology skills, contributing to an ever-growing skills gap in the cloud space at large. As the need for open source tools to bridge the gaps between walled garden technologies grows, so too will its share of the market.
