Hello, Chaos Magick Fam!
I hope all the things are going well for you on this fine day. After jumping back on Facespace, it seems most of you may not be.
I logged on to create a chaosmagick.com page, which you should totally go give a like. I have to say, FB is basically the Mos Eisley Cantina of social media outlets. It’s where people are, though. Le sigh.
We have a Discord!
As an alternative to the various social media platforms, chaosmagick.com offers you a better option and we invite you to join.
It’s still in its nascent form and I’m looking forward to taking suggestions you make and implementing them.
Development News
I’m currently working on defining the aspects addressed on the site and community.
Considering that many people who learn of chaos magick find most of their answers by Googling the term first, the potential that chaosmagick.com might become their first destination is high. That means we have a certain responsibility to those coming to the site.
The site itself will not be the community. It’s simply going to be a portal to the community with all the information one might need based on historical record.
What do you mean by historical record? This means we will not let any dipshit with the capability to write some sort of asinine Freshmen philosophy produce content on the site.
Instead, we’ll focus on the fundamentals and give people a path forward. By the time you leave our site to move on to new things, you’ll know names like Carroll, Spare, Crowley, Hine, etc., and you’ll understand the basics of things like sigils, servitors, egregores, etc.
Again, the goal is to be a beginning to a journey, not the end destination.
A couple of shout outs
First, if you use anointed or consecrated oils for your rituals, I highly recommend you check out Pendragon Oils over on Etsy.
I’ve tried oils from all over the world (literally, not figuratively) and these are my absolute favorites. Lori does a great job of handcrafting these and putting a personal touch on all her orders. You’re not buying mass produced shit when you get her oils. You’re purchasing authentic witchcraft in a bottle that’s pure quality beyond that which I’ve seen elsewhere.
Second, check out Tommie Kelley’s Adventures in Woo Woo. He does podcasts, comic books, and he has a big deck. By that, I mean The Forty Servants. It also has a grimoire to help you navigate using the deck or you can get the smaller Little Black Book.
He’s one of the few modern chaos magicians that chaosmagick.com follows and we suggest you do as well.
Last word
FYI, chaosmagick.com will not be about pushing personal paradigms on people or being a part of internal community disputes. It will primarily be a gateway one can walk through to learn the basics and expand from there on their own.
We go into this endeavor with full knowledge of the fact that it will probably be a thankless job, not everyone will be happy with it, and that’s okay.
If you have friends you think would dig what we’re doing, please share the newsletter. We’ll be back next week!
